Rupert is inspired by the likes of maestros Ackerman, Legg, Hedges, Kottke and continues to develop his technique. Octopod, Rupert's 2nd acoustic fingerstyle CD, is currently being recorded and will be available in 2018.

Most recently he is producer and musical director for Shirley Collins. He has run guitar workshops with John Fahey and played on a street corner in Los Angeles with Ry Cooder, and was described in the NME as 'joining up the dots between Martin Carthy and Ry Cooder brilliantly...'
